For Professionals

Information and resources for professionals working with a survivor and/or their families

The most important and simple thing you can do to help a survivor of sexual violence is to listen and believe.

SOSRC supports survivors using the empowerment model. This is a holistic approach, with the goal of giving survivors the choice of which services they use, who they speak to and how they live their lives. We trust survivors to make the right decisions for themselves.

For all professional referrals, please ensure the survivor is aware of and has consented to the referral before completing the professional referral form.

We offer the following support options for professional referrals:

Advocacy support

Our Independent Sexual Violence Accredited Advocacy Service is available for all survivors of sexual violence, any age or gender, who live in Southend-on-Sea, Castle Point and Rochford.

To refer a survivor into this service and for more information, go to our Reporting to the Police page.
